The Gates are a series of international public building projects made by and maintained by the Mages Guild and with permission from each of the kingdom they established a gate in. The Gate serves as a magical portal that can take one to any of the other gate, the one they go to being controlled by a mage attendant at the gate. Of course you can't just go through it for free. In order to help make up for the incredible finanices it took to establish an outpost for every gate, it costs 1 gp to use the gate even once.
